   Thank You: As Habitat for Humanity’s partnering affiliates in Detroit, Oakland and Macomb County reflect on the successful completion of SuperBUILD week, we want to express our sincere appreciation to each of you for being an important partner in the event. Your invaluable contribution will help build homes and hope for 40 families working to rebuild their lives following the devastation they experienced in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. SuperBUILD was an official Super Bowl XL Detroit Host Committee Sanctioned Community Impact event and part of the National Football League’s Community Outreach Program. During the course of six days, the wall frames for 40 “Habitat homes in a box” were completed to be shipped to Forth Worth, Houston and College Station Texas. There the wall units will be quickly rebuilt for families displaced by hurricanes Katrina and Rita seeking to permanently relocate to those communities. One home was dedicated to each of the NFL’s 32 teams and several NFL players and representatives participated throughout the week helping to successfully complete the build. The SuperBUILD week brought over 700 volunteers from across the country together to build hope for families who are still struggling to piece their lives back together. It was heart warming for people to participate in an event that will make such a significant impact in people’s lives while also being a part of the Super Bowl festivities. Wherever there is need, Habitat’s wonderful family of affiliates, sponsors, volunteers and families are always extending a hand to help. Thank you again for your generous support. We hope you will continue to partner with Habitat for Humanity to support families in need to provide them hope. We will update our volunteers, donors and supporters when each Texas Habitat affiliate will hold their “blitz build” events and build the homes to completion.
